"Buddy Up 2 Shape Up" Fat Loss Campaign by Denville NJ Personal Trainer Carey Yang

Buddy Up 2 Shape Up

It's April Fool's Day! If the history is the guide, at least one-third people who made their New Year's weight-loss resolutions would have quit by now according to a study by the University of Scranton.

"There is always a better way. I have helped countless people lose weight, build muscle and get in shape over the years. People don't need to struggle their way through the weight-loss journey," says Carey Yang, a certified persona trainer and fitness expert in New Jersey.

Yang is the owner and master personal trainer at Beyond Fitness Solutions, LLC -- a leading in-home personal training and weight-loss management company serving and helping clients in Morris County, Sussex County, Passaic County, Essex County and Somerset County areas in New Jersey.

Yang said, to beat the New Year's Resolutions Syndrome, you need to watch out who you're associated with. You are the product of five of your closest friends. Research shows that obesity is epidemic and contagious. Some people call it "sympathetic weight gain" with your friends.

On the other hand, thinness could be contagious too. See who has the upper hand over the other. So stay close to your fit and healthy friends. But don't break up with your overweight friends as yet. Just be aware and stay conscious in your environments. Stay away from sources that drain your energy and damage your health. Make friends with like-minded people who are positive, fit, healthy, high-energy and high-performance.

"If you want to lose weight and change your habits, buddy up with a like-minded friend who shares a similar goal with you," Yang said. "Buddy System is one great way to help you (both of you) stay on track. It's commonly called semi-private training or partner training that two people share the same training session and cost. Buddy training is definitely a cost-effective, fun and mutually accountable way to get in shape."

According to a psychology professor John C. Norcross at the University of Scranton, "having someone to exercise or someone who bugs you about going to the gym doesn't make a difference in January, but it does in February."

"People can tough it out on their own for a month, but after that it gets hard." said Professor Norcross. The exercise pal -- or cop, in the case of a nagging friend, spouse or office mate -- adds incentive. Your workout buddy or accountability partner will cheer you up and keep you going on occasions where you have the moment of "I don't feel like it." or "It's too (you name it excuses)."

Yang encourages people want to train together to interview personal trainer together to find the mutually accepted personal trainer, training style and training schedule.

The Fat Loss Factor - How to Eat Protein-Rich Breakfast to Lose Weight Fast

You probably know the benefits of eating breakfast, particularly a big protein-rich breakfast. Researchers from The University of Kansas Medical Center and another team from Virginia Commonwealth University give us even more proof and reason to be following those exact recommendations for the most rapid weight loss.

Study #1 – University of Kansas Medical Center

This study analyzed the effect of a protein-rich breakfast on appetite and overall daily calorie consumption among teens who typically skip breakfast.

In the study, teens either consumed a protein-rich breakfast of solid foods, a protein-rich breakfast beverage (i.e. meal replacement shake), or a breakfast meal containing minimal protein. All meals were 500 calories each.

The result?

The protein-rich breakfast groups (both solid food and beverage) faired better than an equal calorie breakfast not containing substantial protein. Further, it’s interesting to note that the solid food protein-rich breakfast group scored significantly higher than the protein-rich beverage group with regards to consuming less calories at lunch and feeling considerably more full after the breakfast meal.

Should the study included a control group with a lower-calorie or skipped breakfast, results would have been even worse (proof below).

Take home lessons from this study:

1. Eating breakfast isn’t enough. The breakfast meal needs to contain ample protein to adequately affect satiation and overall caloric intake.

2. A meal replacement shake breakfast doesn’t seem to have the same satiation and calorie intake benefits that a solid food protein-rich meal does.

Study # 2 – Virginia Commonwealth University

Study participants either consumed a diet which included a large protein + carbohydrate breakfast (totaling HALF of daily total calories) or a typical low-calorie diet.

The result of this one?

The group that at half their daily calories at breakfast lost FIVE TIMES MORE WEIGHT than the typical calorie restrictive diet group.

If that’s not convincing evidence (beyond everything I’ve shared last time) that a big, protein-rich breakfast trumps some low-calorie “piece of toast” breakfast, then I don’t know what does.

The ultimate take home lesson:

The ideal breakfast should be BIG, containing plenty of lean protein and carbohydrates.

Denville NJ In-Home Personal Trainer Helps Women Lose Weight, Get Toned and Feel Great

The leading Morris County in-home personal training company Beyond Fitness Solutions, LLC is expanding its business from Denville to surrounding Morris County areas.

Personal trainer in Morris County NJ area are available making house calls for in-home private personal fitness training to help you lose weight, reduce body fat, get you fit and in shape.

Based in Denville, the “hub” of Morris County, Beyond Fitness Solutions LLC has been serving clients in nearby towns as far as 20 miles away.

“There are a lot of benefits of having a in-home personal trainer coming to client’s house for training. Motivation and travel time are two of the biggest reasons,” says Carey Yang, owner and master trainer at Beyond Fitness Solutions, LLC.

Most people would not travel for more than 3 to 5 miles from their homes or work places to work out in a gym or fitness center. Sometimes, they just don’t like to go to gym or fitness center near them if they have the choice.

In-home personal trainers usually travel up to 10 miles around their home bases. Some will charge travel fees if it’s outside of their areas. Most trainers will try to stay as close to their home bases as travel time is really unbillable hours that would kill their profit margins.

Here is raving testimonial from our client Karen in Denville.

I started working out with Carey a few weeks ago. I wanted to gain muscle, flexibility and work on my posture. I never thought that I would enjoy doing exercises but I look forward to our sessions. Carey is very knowledgeable about the mechanics of the body and uses this knowledge to make each exercise the most effective it can be, and by making sure that it is done properly, reaping the maximum benefit from the exercise. We do different exercises each time and it is never boring or repetitive, a problem that in the past, would have made me not want to exercise. He targets the areas that I needed the most, while still working the core with each exercise. I would highly recommend him as a trainer and am looking forward to becoming a stronger person through his guidance. I will continue to train with him and to recommend him to my friends who are tired of the whole”gym” thing. — Karen G., Denville, NJ

The Better and Effect Way of Burning 321 Calories

Summer is right here now. It's hot and steamy!

Now you can't hide inside your baggy clothes like in winter time.

If you want to lose weight and shed body fat, there’s simply no way aound it. You absolutely must create some sort of caloric deficit. In the end you must burn more calories than you consume.

You have different options of cutting 300 calories. How you do it has far-reaching effect on your body.

There are many different ways of creating a calorie deficit. Some are more effective and efficient than others.

Option #1: Skip a meal

If you want to create an additional 300 calorie deficit a day, you could simply skip your morning bagel. If you skip the cream cheese, you could save 500 calories. (For the record, I'm not anti-bagel.)

Option #2: Walk an hour on the treadmill

You could walk for an hour on the treadmill to create the same 300 calorie deficit.

Option #3: Do 15 minutes of high intensity interval training workout

You could do a 15 minute high intensity interval training workout and create the same 300 calorie deficit.

Now here’s where things get a little more complicated than the numbers suggest.

In all three options, you are essentially creating an additional 300 calorie deficit a day. But not all calories are created equal. Two thumbs down on Option #1 and Option #2. Option#3 thump them all if you can do it.

Why?

Well, first, let’s say that you decide to create your caloric deficit solely by eliminating calories in your diet. This will only result in some nasty hormonal consequences, slowing down your metabolism . Your body will balance out the very deficit you are trying to create.

There are several issues for Option #2. Spending 60 minutes to burn 300 calories? That’s a long time to invest to burn less than a tenth of a single pound of fat. If you want to burn a pound of fat, you’d have to walk for close to 15 hours.

Who has the time?

Not for me.

The second problem with Option #2 is that there is virtually no so-called “afterburn” effect. Once the walking session is over, your calorie burnig–metabolism goes back on it's initial setpoint.

For Option #3, you’re investing much, much less time, but have the added benefit of the “afterburn” or elevated metabolism for the entire day and can last another day or two after the workout.

Which brings me to the question — how do you want to burn your calories?

Do you try to “diet” your pounds away?

Are you hoping to walk away 5, 10, or even 20 lbs? That will probably take you a few years (of walking).

Or have you embraced the power of intense exercise?

Granted, when you're starting up a fitness program, you're not likely to get right to high intensity training. Start slow yet consistently. Gradually increase the frequency, intensity and duration of your training and workout.

My friend, the choice is yours.
